FIRST CHOICE: Option A
REASONS (first choice): I like the fixed length and 6 characters is more than enough for counting all vulnerabilities in a year. The fixed length works out well in sorting with vulnerability scanners when a CVE field exists. The format is close to the current format, which I am used to.
