A majority of the Board membership has voted in favor of the evoking the 2.15 Charter Exceptions in the Board Charter in relation to Chris Coffin's participation on the Board. Because a majority has already been achieved, the voting process has officially ended before the " July 14, 2020" deadline. Board Members, The Secretariat, in conjunction with individual Board members, would like to evoke section 2.15 Charter Exceptions in the Board Charter in relation to Chris Coffin's participation on the CVE Board. The Charters states: In the event there is a needed or desired exception to the existing Board Charter, a Board member may bring the request for the exception up to the Board and request the Board vote on the requested exception. The request can be made either on the Board's private mailing list or on a Board Member call. The Secretariat, will then conduct a vote on the proposed exception. This vote will be handled using the regular voting process. If the vote passes, the exception will be allowed. As discussed on previous Board calls, including the June 24 th call, it is proposed that while Chris Coffin works for MITRE, he is not a member of the MITRE CVE Team and should be given the opportunity to participate on the Board as an Independent Board member with full voting rights separate and distinct from the votes the MITRE CVE Team casts.
